HUBERT
J!
"Film has always been a part
of my life
as a radiologist, it is my diagnostic tool
as
a photographer, it is my vision of the world!"
Hubert J! didn't think of himself
as a photographer or world traveler. Although he was considered
well traveled, the sights were quickly forgotten. The turning
point occurred in 1988 when he purchased a new camera and a few
rolls of film for a trip to China with a group of avid photographers.
Hubert shot so much film that he bought fresh film at every destination.
When the prints were developed, he knew that these were photographs...not
snapshots.
Striving for excellence, he enrolled in The Introductory Photography
course at UCLA. Thus began years of advanced photography courses,
participation in workshops with world-renowned photographers,
membership in local professional and semi-professional camera
clubs and re-traveling the world with a new perspective. Many
of his images are printed by Nash
Editions whose contribution to the development and excellence
of the Iris
printing process has been recognized by the Smithsonian
Institute.
